The NASA Swarmathon is a competition to develop cooperative robotics to revolutionize space exploration. The Third Annual Swarmathon will occur April 17 – 19, 2018 at NASA Kennedy Space Center. Students from Minority Serving Universities and Community Colleges are challenged to develop search algorithms for robotic swarms. This technology promises to more effectively and efficiently locate and collect resources on the Moon or Mars.

Who are we

The Cabrillo Robotics Club was founded by Cabrillo College engineering and computer science students in the fall of 2014. What started as a club of 10 members working on drones and Arduinos has evolved into a diverse team of over 30 members, all working towards a single goal: taking FIRST place in the NASA Swarmathon competition.

Why this is important

NASA’s Swarmathon Competition aims to involve minority and low income students in education and research. Through the competition the students further their knowledge in coding and robotics while also advancing technology for future NASA space exploration missions.

How the money will be used

Any funds raised will go towards subsidizing travel expenses, and room & board. Any money left over from the fundraiser will be used in future Cabrillo Robotics activities. We’d greatly appreciate any help you could provide us in ensuring that all our members have the opportunity to network and have their hard work recognized. , compete in this national competition and do our community proud. The Swarmathon is right around the corner, we have a mere two months to ensure this happens. Time is of the utmost importance! Don’t wait – donate today.

Your donations will go through the Cabrillo College Foundation, a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization established in 1965. You may use the Federal Tax ID number 94-6121953.
