Terms of Use: Republishing Santa Cruz Tech Beat’s Content
Santa Cruz Tech Beat’s content may not be used, reused, or republished in any form without prior written permission. This includes, but is not limited to, articles, lists of job openings, lists of upcoming events, and lists of resources.
An exception to the above is this:
If you or your organization want to republish an article originally published by Santa Cruz Tech Beat (SCTB) or written for Santa Cruz Tech Beat, including articles by the founder, publisher, editor, interns, student writers, guest feature writers, thought leaders, paid or unpaid staff, translators, or other contributors, you must follow these specific Terms of Use:
- Publish the first 1-3 paragraphs of text from the article and then write “Continue reading this article in Santa Cruz Tech Beat” and link that text to the article in SCTB.
- Write “The following article by <name of author> was originally published in Santa Cruz Tech Beat” at the top of the article and link that text to the original article in SCTB.
- If the phrase “Special to Santa Cruz Tech Beat” is under the name of author, include that under the author’s name.
- If you republish any photos/images, use the same credit that SCTB used.
If you want to use, reuse, or republish SCTB’s content in any other way, please contact SCTB in advance so we can reach an agreeable solution.
