PayStand wins award for tech startups

PayStand, a Santa Cruz startup co-founded by Jeremy Almond and Scott Campbell, is one of the 10 winners in the Internet category in the 2014 TiE50 Awards, a Silicon Valley competition to recognize enterprising tech startups.paystand

PayStand is alternative online checkout that works with websites, social networks and mobile applications, promising a setup in five minutes, without a need for additional software. The company charges a monthly rate rather than a per transaction fee. Credit card orders can cost merchants 2.7 percent per transaction.
The 50 winners were selected from more than 2,800 companies in 27 countries. Companies in software, mobile, Internet, cleantech and life sciences pitched their ideas at the TiE Conference and were evaluated on business model, IP value and leadership team.
