Finalists Announced for Startup Challenge Monterey Bay 2016

26 Monterey Bay Area Startups Move Forward With the Regional New Business Competition
Startup Challenge Monterey Bay is proud to announce the Finalists for the 2016 competition. The finalists hail from all three counties of the counties eligible for the Challenge, Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito.
The four finalists in the Student Division are Community Fresh Market , Frontman, LOGiX Tutoring and Tinkr.
The ten finalists in the Main Street Division are: Arlew Goods, Botanic Carmel, BothCo, Carmel Honey, Cuffs to Puffs, FogLog LLC, Greenwise Water & Landscapes, Mobspray, Percy’s Pies, and Zio Brand Sausage & Meats.
The twelve finalists in the Venture Division are: Bark’d, CECC Solutions, EquipmentList, Golden, HeavyConnect, JamCloud, My Releaf, PumperPal, Scoot Science, SOL Brands/Mighty Roster, Solar Rail and Valent Power,
Now in its seventh year, Startup Challenge Monterey Bay, the annual regional new business competition and accelerator program, is open to all new entrepreneurs and startups in Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties.This year 89 entrepreneurs and startup companies from the three counties applied for the competition, a 30% increase from last year.
All applicants pitched their businesses to a panel of judges on Friday, April 1st, 2016 at CSU Monterey Bay. The finalists will receive mentoring and pitch workshops to prepare them for the Final Round presentations on May 6, 2016 at California State University Monterey Bay. In addition to the Final Round pitches, the event on May 6th will feature the Venture Showcase exhibits of the finalist businesses and past winners of the Startup Challenge, and the Otter Tank competition to determine the Grand Prize Venture Winner for this year’s Startup Challenge.
The public is invited to the Final Round and Venture Showcase to meet these new entrepreneurs and startups, beginning at 3pm on May 6, 2016 at CSU Monterey Bay. Come see these new businesses, watch the top three Venture division finalists compete in the Otter Tank and celebrate as we recognize the winners of the 2016 Startup Challenge Monterey Bay.
