The County of Santa Cruz is currently developing a new Economic Vitality Strategy (EVS) to identify goals, policies and actions to enhance job growth and economic strengths of our county.

On May 20, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved the release of the working draft of the Economic Vitality Strategy for a 45 day public review and comment period. Comments should be emailed to PLN1001@santacruzcounty.org before July 7, 2014.

Note: Civinomics has posted the County Economic Vitality Strategy as a workshop.

According to Barbara Mason, County of Santa Cruz Economic Development Coordinator:

There is a significant portion of the document related to technology businesses, housing and workforce revolving around that sector.

Steve Blum of Tellus Venture Associates reports on how the Economic Vitality Plan is central to the county’s broadband development initiative.
