Monterey Bay Economic Partnership will join alliance of twelve regional groups in California Stewardship Network

MBEP Summit date set for November 4, 2015 at Chaminade Conference Center in Santa Cruz

The Monterey Bay Economic Partnership (MBEP) announced that it has been accepted into membership of the California Stewardship Network (CSN), a statewide alliance of twelve diverse regional organizations committed to economic, environment and social well being of our regions and our state. These regions represent powerful innovation centers where business, community and government leaders are creating new pathways and new partnerships to achieve collective impacts throughout the state.

“We are very pleased to join the California Stewardship Network to explore the opportunities and challenges in creating a vibrant regional economy with good jobs, education, health care, and quality of life for all our residents,” said MBEP board Co-Chair, Bud Colligan.

MBEP was formed in 2014 and consists of public, private and civic entities from the counties of Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz. Its mission is to create a thriving region with quality jobs, excellent education and health care, and a high quality of life for all residents, while preserving the natural beauty and healthy lifestyle we all share.

CSN partners with CA Forward to advance stewardship-based policy reform. CSN is a co-presenter of the California Economic Summit, which advances the Stewardship Ethic and the Triple Bottom Line (economic, environmental and human capital in balance). Its commitment is to develop innovative regional solutions, Promising Practices, to the state’s most pressing economic, environmental, and community challenges.

“We are excited to have the Monterey Bay Economic Partnership as our newest member, joining like-minded organizations in Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, Sonoma, San Diego, and several others,” said Lauree Sahba, COO of the San Diego Regional EDC and Chair of CSN. “We were impressed by MBEP’s commitment to the triple bottom line and the board of directors and staff it has established to find innovative solutions to community challenges in the Monterey Bay region.”

MBEP Annual Summit set for November 4 at Chaminade, Santa Cruz

Each year, MBEP hosts an Economic Summit in the winter and a State of the Region conference in the fall. The first regional Economic Summit was held January 29, 2015 in Seaside and brought together regional stakeholders to discuss the various economic opportunities and challenges we face. The State of the Region conference will take place on November 4, 2015 at Chaminade Conference Center in Santa Cruz.
