California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC), California’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership Center, is partnering with the Monterey Bay Economic Partnership (MBEP) on the event. MBEP is a nonprofit organization with a mission focused on improving the economic vitality of the Monterey Bay region, which includes Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties. Together, CMTC and MBEP seek to improve the capability of small and medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) in their manufacturing productivity and competitiveness.

The event’s facility host, Annieglass produces high-end, contemporary, handcrafted glass serving pieces. They proudly celebrate 35 years of artisan glassmaking in Watsonville.

CMTC is building its California’s Manufacturing Network in the region. This Network, formed and managed by CMTC, provides services exclusively to SMMs in California. The Network is a collaboration of more than 20 partners that deliver technical assistance to SMMs. The Network has expanded the number of SMMs served to more than 1,100 companies annually, generating significant financial impacts for CMTC’s clients and for the State of California. As part of the MBEP member network, CMTC is taking a crucial next step in expanding its outreach to ensure SMMs in the region are aware of the assistance available to them.

“Our focus is and always has been small manufacturers,” says Kristina Chavez Wyatt, Client Advisor with CMTC. “Through this alliance we will be in a strong position to help our local manufacturers access and leverage the resources they need to grow their businesses and provide solid job and career opportunities in the Monterey Bay Area.

The team at MBEP sees CMTC as a perfect partner.

“Our visions align in a really dynamic way,” asserts MBEP President Kate Roberts. “Having CMTC as a member of MBEP will allow us to better serve small and medium-sized manufacturers throughout the region. The suite of services CMTC offers is vital to the continued growth and success of these organizations.”
