[Editor’s note: It’s so exciting to be part of breaking this cool story about Inboard on “Shark Tank.” Inboard writes: “This is a huge opportunity for Inboard as it is the first primetime viewing of an electric skateboard on a major TV network. The critically-acclaimed and award-winning “Shark Tank” regularly attracts millions of viewers every week. We can’t tell you anything about the outcome nor are we allowed to discuss what happened during the filming or audition process. To find out more, tune in on December 2!”. So, dear Santa Cruz Tech Beat readers, please find the viewing party details and rsvp info below.]

Those rare but beautiful inflection points

Every company that has had any success can look back at certain moments in their history and recognize those rare but beautiful inflection points. Points that change the trajectory of a company and in many cases an industry.

Our first major milestone or inflection point was our start as a Kickstarter backed company. Raising almost $500,000 we had no idea the wild ride that was about to ensue. Our second major inflection point arrived almost two years ago. We made a decision to permanently relocate Inboard to Santa Cruz and haven’t looked back since. While we were stoked to make the move, we had no idea how pivotal Santa Cruz would be to our growth and success. Our move to Santa Cruz has been a game changer and we can’t imagine Inboard anywhere else in the world.

The team at Inboard has found a special community and connection with Santa Cruz. A supportive community of like-minded adventurers, go-getters, and entrepreneurs. From the local angel investment community, to the broader tech & startup community, Santa Cruz has afforded Inboard an amazing ecosystem in which to grow and give back.

Inboard is going to be on “Shark Tank!”

It’s hard to put into words, but the entire team at Inboard feels so thankful and lucky to be part of the Santa Cruz community. With this in mind, we are excited to announce another major milestone in our brief history. Inboard has been selected to be on the hit TV show, “Shark Tank.” Our episode is scheduled to air on Friday, December 2 at 8pm EST / 9pm CST / 9pm PST on the ABC Television Network.

You can read more about our experience at our Inboard blog.

As you may imagine, we are unable to talk about specific details of the show, but we think our episode is going to make for great television. This is the first time an electric skateboard has been shown on a television show of this caliber. The critically-acclaimed and award-winning “Shark Tank” regularly attracts millions of viewers every week.

It is our great honor to be a part of “Shark Tank” and the Santa Cruz community. We couldn’t have reached this milestone or the ones to come without you: our friends, family, supporters, and community. To say “thank you” we’re inviting all of you to share in the journey and watch alongside the premier airing of our episode.
