Check out the most popular electric vehicles at Drive Electric event on May 3

Join us on May 3 to learn about the widespread availability of plug-in electric vehicles and the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid options.

  • Parking lot of the Civic Auditorium, 307 Church Street, Santa Cruz

The City of Santa Cruz, in partnership with Ecology Action and the Monterey Bay Electric Vehicle Alliance, will be hosting a Drive Electric event on Thursday, May 3 from 11am-2pm for all downtown Santa Cruz employees. The event will be located in the parking lot of the Civic Auditorium at 307 Church Street and is FREE.

Event highlights include:

  • Test drive the most popular electric vehicles on the market today including the new Chevy Bolt, 2018 Nissan Leaf, Tesla Model S and X, Honda Clarity, Volkswagen e-golf and more!
  • Various electric bike models will also be available for test rides. Remember to bring your helmet!
  • Talk with EV owners and experts about their experiences with driving electric.
  • Talk with local dealerships about their current lease options and purchase deals.
  • Talk with local solar experts from Sandbar Solar about how to install home charging units and connect new or existing solar panels. Also hear from Monterey Bay Community Power regarding EV Solar Energy Rates.
  • Learn about the benefits, incentives, savings and trends of e-mobility including federal, state and local rebates.

Join us to learn about the widespread availability of plug-in electric vehicles and the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid options. Electric vehicles are fun to drive, are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
