A New Lookout for Looker

It’s true. Although they don’t plan to announce officially until July, the word is out that Looker plans to move into the heretofore vacant rittenhouse_outsidetop floor of the Rittenhouse Building — aka “The Top of The Ritt” — on Pacific Avenue this fall.

Confirmed by Looker CEO, Frank Bien, Looker will take over the full top floor of The Ritt and has the option on more space.  Approaching 60 employees, they’ve outgrown their current space on Cedar Street (in the back of the Cruzio building), and anticipate growing quickly to 100+ employees locally.
Bien says:

Santa Cruz has proven to be a very beneficial and unique place to grow a venture-backed software company.  We have extraordinary access to talent who are otherwise commuting over the hill, and are also able to hire great folks from the lower peninsula and relocate new hires who see the benefits of being in such a special place.

Looker has grown astonishingly quickly. We’re passing 100 customers worldwide and are finding incredible success in helping leading companies extract value from immense datasets.

We’re very committed to Santa Cruz.  We’ve been able to build an insanely talented team, attracting folks from top companies such as Google, Salesforce.com, VMware, and a myriad of other hot startups.

Looker is currently hiring in software development, data analytics, sales, and finance.looker-logo

So the best lookout on Pacific goes to Looker. Now if only Apple would move into the ground floor.
